The Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards is a 17-exhibit shrine
to Baltimore and Maryland sports. Located in the basement and first
floor of the old Camden Station, the 22,000 square feet of
memorabilia, archives and displays opened for business on May 14,
2005. Camden Station was originally a major railroad station,
serving passengers on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. The first
Civil War confrontation took place on the steps of Camden Station,
when Union troops and southern supporters collided. Before the
Museum's opening in 2005, it had gone largely unused since the
1980s. Museum exhibits focus on the Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore
Colts and Baltimore Ravens, as well as other sports. Camden Station
houses the Orioles Hall of fame and the MD State Athletic Hall of
fame.
