Located in the newly restored historic bank building in the heart of downtown Salt Lake, Hotel Monaco invites guests to indulge in the guilty pleasures that make travel fun. This luxury hotel welcomes the guests with a dazzling "Living Room" lobby that offers the glamour and elegance of a circa 1940 Hollywood Hills home. Celebrated designer Cheryl Rowley has embraced the space with rich furnishings, including the popular "harem couch," which entices guests to relax, mingle and enjoy the eclectic décor's touches of humor, whimsy, and elegant, yet edgy style. The Living Room also provides an elegant setting for the Hosted Evening Wine Reception, which can include a richly deserved chair massage. The 225 rooms and suites enliven guests' senses with plush robes, exclusive bath products and luxurious pillow top beds. Tall rooms, with eight-foot beds and high showerheads, are available upon request. Hotel Monaco's Guppy Love program offers guests the pleasure of having a goldfish companion in their rooms for their stay. Hotel staff cares for the goldfish, leaving guests to simply enjoy their aquatic roommates. As with all Kimpton Hotels, pets are welcomed with a treat and supplied with food and water dishes to use during their stay. Walking services are available. Hotel Monaco-Salt Lake City also features Kimpton's Forgot It, We've Got It program, where we offer toiletry items that you may have left at home. Onsite dining is provided by the swanky Bambara Bistro. Featuring a centrally located exhibition kitchen, soaring windows and historic architectural details, Bambara is a favorite of locals and guests for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Bambara was also voted Salt Lake's best restaurant by Salt Lake Magazine.   • EarthCare Products: Comprehensive recycling facilities; Use of non-chemical cleaning products; use of recycled and natural paper compounds; organic coffee, tea, wine and snacks; low flow water systems (showers, faucets, and toilets); energy efficient lighting; soaps, shampoos, and conditioners made from socially and environmentally responsible companies; reusable mugs replacing plastic, styrofoam, and paper cups; and, signage and displays created to communicate EarthCare to the general public.

  • EarthCare Practices: Nationwide Eco Champions Organization of over 50 employees; formal back of house recycling programs; hosted public sustainability event “Come Get Dirty with Us;” weekly tips and environmental information through company newsletter; coat hangers recycled back to dry cleaning company; styrofoam and food packaging eliminated from back of house; towel and linen reuse program; environmental purchasing policy on internal on-line catalog; eWaste recycling program established; created best practices recommendations (over 30 practices and growing) for all hotels to incorporate over the lifetime of the program; and, unused amenities donated to local charities.
