Stay environmentally friendly at the Hyatt Regency Washington. The Hyatt Regency Washington is one of only two certified Green Seal hotels in Washington, D.C. The Hyatt Regency Washington earned the Green Seal certification by employing the following practices:

  • Purchases clean wind energy
  • Food waste composting in the main kitchen and stewarding and kitchen oils are picked-up for recycling
  • The use of compact fluorescent light bulbs in guest rooms
  • The use of high efficiency fluorescent lighting in public areas and offices
  • Use of photocells and timers in offices, storerooms, outside lighting and meeting rooms
  • Vacant guestroom thermostats are set to 80 degrees in the summer and 60 degrees in the winter
  • When meeting rooms are not in use, lighting and HVAC are turned off to conserve energy
  • During low occupancy periods, escalators are turned off to the ballroom level
  • Kitchen equipment is pre-heated for use as needed
  • Upgraded burners on the boilers for more efficient hot water heating
  • Utilize current boilers to heat water vs. using a separate hot water heater
  • Utility meters are monitored daily for discrepancies and year over year analysis

Named for the corresponding article of the U.S. Constitution establishing the structure of Congress, Article One is conveniently situated in the newly remodeled Atrium lobby. The restaurant offers a casual location for breakfast and lunch each day, while featuring upscale dining for dinner each evening. Choose from a selection of unique dishes blending local influences, organic products and grilled favorites with a creative twist.


Breakfast will feature Hyatt's signature breakfast menu in addition to a daily breakfast buffet. For lunch, enjoy a selection of creative soups, salads, sandwiches and grilled entrees. Dinner provides an upscale grill menu, featuring Certified Angus Beef steaks, chops, and seafood. Generous side dishes and a selection of desserts pair nicely with the grill menu.

  • Hours: Open daily 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Located amidst the bustling Atrium lobby, the Article One Lounge provides a prime location for mingling, catching up on the day's current events or simply people watching for the "who's who" on Capitol Hill. The lounge is centered by community tables, complete with nine 20" flat screen televisions, perfect for meeting friends and co-workers. The lounge offers a selection of appetizers, sandwiches and specialty cocktails.


Similar to the restaurant, the lounge also has two semi-private lounge areas available to be reserved with bottle service for up to 12 guests each or for a combined 24 guests.
