Hotel Overview

The unassuming exterior of the 10-story Hotel Madera gives little hint of the elegantly exotic escape that awaits you behind its doors. The atmosphere of this Home Away From Home is serene and calming; abstract, and intelligent. A modern mobile hangs from the ceiling, alive in the breeze. The registration desk is wrapped in luggage-stitched leather. A compact sitting area is furnished with modern, low-slung upholstered chairs and tasteful, artistic accents. Hotel Madera's 82 guestrooms and 12 specialty guestrooms feature animal-print accents to their mohair-padded headboards, pillows, velvet draperies, triple-sheeted beds, and quilted blankets. Each guestroom offers special amenities that will make you feel right at home. Favorite snacks, a preferred pillow, or a plate of warm cookies is just a phone call away. Outside the stunningly comfortable guestrooms, guests can enjoy the Hosted Evening Wine Reception as well as cuisine prepared by the award-winning chef at Firefly American Bistro. Guests can live out their dream-home fantasies with complete in-room spa services and a complimentary yoga program. Fully equipped fitness and business centers are also ready nearby for you to work and play. Standard amenities include A/C, coffeemaker upon request, CD stereo, 2-line phone with voicemail, soundproof windows, convenience safe, hairdryer, mini bar, morning paper, umbrella, complimentary DSL and WiFi Internet, and cable TV. Services include valet laundry, complimentary overnight shoeshine, business center and valet parking. The pet-friendly hotel welcomes pets with a play toy and food and water dishes to take home with them when they leave. Walking services are also available. Hotel Madera also features Kimpton's Forgot-It, We've Got It program, where toiletry items that you may have left at home are complimentary provided for you. Our environmental program, Kimpton Hotels EarthCare, supports a sustainable world by using non-intrusive, high quality, eco-friendly products and services, including In-Room recycling bins, non-toxic cleaners, organic honor bar items and water/energy efficient measures.   • EarthCare Products: Comprehensive recycling facilities; Use of non-chemical cleaning products; use of recycled and natural paper compounds; organic coffee, tea, wine and snacks; low flow water systems (showers, faucets, and toilets); energy efficient lighting; soaps, shampoos, and conditioners made from socially and environmentally responsible companies; reusable mugs replacing plastic, styrofoam, and paper cups; and, signage and displays created to communicate EarthCare to the general public.

  • EarthCare Practices: Nationwide Eco Champions Organization of over 50 employees; formal back of house recycling programs; hosted public sustainability event “Come Get Dirty with Us;” weekly tips and environmental information through company newsletter; coat hangers recycled back to dry cleaning company; styrofoam and food packaging eliminated from back of house; towel and linen reuse program; environmental purchasing policy on internal on-line catalog; eWaste recycling program established; created best practices recommendations (over 30 practices and growing) for all hotels to incorporate over the lifetime of the program; and, unused amenities donated to local charities.
