Hotel Overview A million acres of wilderness with jagged peaks, wildlife and
glaciers awaits travellers to the Izaak Walton Inn, adjacent to
Glacier National Park. Originally built in 1939 to accommodate
Great Northern Railways crews, today the Inn welcome Amtrak
passengers detraining at its front doors or visitors arriving by
car. The lobby brings Montana's scupltured landscape indoors with a
massive stone fireplace, log furniture and pine ceilings. Rooms are
appointed with American quilts, Down comforters, Montana pine
furniture, antique school desks and historic memorabilia of the Inn
and park. Guests mingle around the lobby fireplace prior to dining
on Brook Trout, Montana Beef or International specials. Families
enjoy the lounge-recreation room and the Inns European plan skiing
and hiking packages. The Izaak Walton Inn is a beautiful historic
chalet where guests repair after a days sojourn viewing mountin
goat, elk and moose. Glacier National Park is 1/4 mile by auto,
foot, skis or horseback. Walton Goat Lick provides a close look at
wildlife. The Inn is open year round and offers activities to
compliment each season.
