The Sunset Hill House is a member of the New Hampshire Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant Program. The NHSLRP envisions a time when travel, dining and leisure activities do not adversely affect the places we visit and strives to ensure eco-responsibility by reducing the environmental footprint and providing a better guest experience.
The Sunset Hill House reduces energy consumption by improving building insulation, upgrading appliances and using natural light whenever possible. Water conservation is achieved through an optional towel and linen reuse program, installation of low-flow toilets and water sensitive landscaping. Waste is reduced through cardboard recycling, the use of cloth napkins for food service and donations to a local homeless shelter. Green seal certified cleaning products are happily employed and the inn uses integrated pest management on its golf course. |

Restaurant at Sunset Hill
The acclaimed Restaurant at Sunset Hill. Member of the prestigious Chaine des Rotisseurs. AAA-rated with a Wine Spectator Award wine list, and named, “NH’s very best spectacular meal” and “NH’s best dinner by Alpenglow” by NH Magazine. Executive Chef Joe Peterson, renowned for his sophisticated cuisine, will personally ensure your satisfaction. Chef Peterson has been featured in Bon Appetit, Gourmet and other national publications, and in a recent article was named "one of the stars of the inn." Of course, everything is cooked to order. Special requests are our pleasure. We strongly recommend reservations. Without a doubt, The Restaurant at Sunset Hill offers the best fine dining in the region. All with what Fodors called a "jaw dropping view" of the White Mountains."

Golf
New Hampshire’s oldest 9 hole course built in 1897. This conservation-protected landmark, approved for the historic register, has stunning views of 5 mountain ranges and is designed as a fun and breathtaking place to enjoy your game. It is very hard indeed to have a bad day here!
Play is fairly straightforward and somewhat shorter than the average (2000 yards for 9 holes--in 1897, with hickory clubs and leather balls, it was a lot further!) Many of the original hazards from that era remain and despite modern equipment they often make play much more strategic than the yardage suggests.

Spa
Fireside Massage Therapy - Sunset Hill House is pleased to offer fireside massage therapy for its guests with Cheryl Sullivan, a licensed, certified, and experienced Massage Therapist. Cheryl's massage consists of an eclectic blend of healing designed to treat the whole person on a physical, energetic, and spiritual level. During the last 18 years, Cheryl has put together a session sequence that incorporates all these modalities, and is tailored to meet each individual's needs. Her intention is to provide a massage that is relaxing, rejuvenating, therapeutic, and most importantly appropriate for each of her clients.
On a physical level she uses Swedish massage techniques to enable the release of toxins that accumulate in the muscle tissue. The toxins are flushed out of the body via the circulatory system, whose natural activity level is increased with this type of massage therapy. Both light and deep tissue techniques are used to break up muscle adhesions (knots) that are present in the muscles for a variety of reasons. Some people (especially athletes) respond to a deeper massage using trigger-point therapy, consisting of deep pressure usually applied with the thumb to hypersensitive points within a muscle. Others (especially those that have high levels of stress in their lives), may respond to more of a nervous system relaxation approach, which is achieved with a lighter, slower massage.
