- The Resort’s Native American Learning Center provides environmental awareness in a venue where culture and land based stewardship demonstrate centuries old policies of environmental maintenance and a dedication to caring for Mother Earth.
- The Resort has converted a chemically treated Koi pond into an environmentally sensitive pond naturally maintained by symbiosis. The “Eco-pond” was awarded the Valley Forward Association’s prestigious Crescordia Award for public assembly in environmentalism.
- The Resort is the first to have a destination-based demonstration crop garden. Using seeds gathered from Native American reservations in Arizona, Northern Mexico and New Mexico, the garden demonstrates native cultigens, natural growing techniques and biodiversity.
At the cornerstone of Hyatt Regency Scottsdale’s community involvement is the belief that the future sustainability of tourism is contingent upon the natural beauty of the State. A grant from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has helped facilitate the Resort’s outreach efforts so that others in the industry can experience and learn from significant green advances. |
