Orchestrated by California-based team design atelier, these
exquisitely redesigned guest rooms maintain and enhance the
original historic restoration of the us general Post Office
Building, while combining contemporary styles, and modern
colorations that let the guest know they are in a current, vibrant
Washington DC destination hotel. The upgraded fabrics and
furnishings are a mix of traditional designs infused with modern
colors and scale that indulge the senses. Hotel Monaco Where
History Stays in Style follows the historic roots of the 1839
Tariff Building location. Built on an entire city block in the
style of a Roman Palazzo, complete with marble columns and facia,
the 1839 Tariff Building has been meticulously restored in every
detail.
The hotel boasts a spacious "Living Room" lobby that
incorporates three distinct sitting areas for which guests can
mingle, relax and enjoy the hosted evening wine hour. Poste Moderne
Brasserie entices locals and guests with its highly-regarded
American menu and a slick, designer decor that flows out into the
courtyard patio when the weather is right. Luxurious hotel
amenities include full-service concierge, complimentary high-speed
Internet, complimentary overnight shoeshine, valet parking and
24-hour fitness and business center. The pet-friendly hotel
welcomes pets with a treat and food and water dishes to use during
their stay. Walking services are also available.
