Travel Green

At Nereledge Inn, we are committed to finding ways to reduce our impact on the environment. We have done so on our own, and now we are banding with other lodgings in the "Sustainable Lodging Program" to share information and raise awareness of effective, easy techniques to do so. These are some of the steps we have taken.

  • We recycle. Please use the separate recycling bin in the guest pantry.
  • We buy 100% recycled paper products (unbleached or bleached without chlorine) and plastic bags.
  • We use refillable soap dispensers to save on packaging. We do have individual soaps available if you'd like, please ask.
  • We practice organic gardening methods and plant primarily native species that require less water and are more pest-resistant.
  • We use timers on the thermostats in the common areas to avoid wasting heat when the building is empty.
  • We are replacing some heavily-used lighting with energy efficient bulbs.
  • When appliances need to be replaced, we do so with energy-efficient models.
  • We use water saving fixtures and allow you to reuse towels and linens. If you'd like fresh every day, please ask.
  • For your health and ours, we use low-VOC paints.
We invite you to join with us in these efforts, both during your stay and after you leave our inn, to preserve the reasons that we come to these mountains and rivers. If you have any questions or comments please bring them up; we're always happy to talk about it.
