Each of the 217 guest rooms at the Handlery feature one King-size or two Double beds, newly renovated bathrooms, wireless Internet access (nominal fee), mini-refrigerator, telephone with data port, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, and a coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tea. Many rooms feature an intimate balcony or patio overlooking the pool or landscaping, so you can sit outside and enjoy the San Diego sun.

Take a refreshing dip in our heated swimming pool and then ease yourself into our whirlpool and let your worries melt away. Seasonally, we offer a poolside bar where the grill is going and thirst quenching cocktails are served.

Other on-site amenities include poolside fitness center and car rental. For the golf enthusiast, we are adjacent to the 27-hole championship Riverwalk Golf Club and driving range where the San Diego River is a prominent feature of the layout, contributing to the beauty and challenge of the course.

The hotel features an outdoor heating pool, Jacuzzi, fitness center, and room service through the on-site restaurant, Postcards American Bistro. The recently renovated 950 Lounge features weekly live musical entertainment.

Exciting News: The Handlery Hotel and Resort will be closing it's doors on November 23, 2009 and reopening in and around mid-February, 2010 as it undergoes a $4 million renovation! The improvements being made to the property will include a complete renovation of all 217 guest rooms, public space and event space. The pool deck and spa will be resurfaced and the property will undergo complete landscape redesign as well as general improvements to some of the hotel's infrastructure.

Travel Green

The Handlery Hotels have adopted practices that promote reduction, reuse and recycling. Our green practices include: 100% post consumer recycled toilet paper and recycled facial tissue; compact fluorescent light fixtures in all guestrooms; green cleaning products and detergents; recycle toner cartridges from laser printers, electronics, light bulbs and batteries with certified recycling centers; an "in-house" recycling program for office paper; installed 1.6 gallon low flow toilets and low flow shower heads in all guestrooms; implemented bed linen/bath towel laundry conservation program where we only launder/change sheets at guest request and at check-out; and, replaced disposable cups with washable drinking glasses for employee lunchrooms.
