Georgia Sea Turtle Center attraction information All Ages $15.00

Participants in the Ranger Walk get the unique opportunity to walk down a historic trail through one of the islandís most diverse habitats while viewing Jekyll Islandís very own active bald eagle nest. Guests meet our experienced Conservation Staff at Jekyll Books bookstore (101 Old Plantation Rd.) where they will accompany the staff on foot down Crane Rd. Trail. The tour is spent learning the trailís history, identifying the unique vegetation communities, describing the different types of plants found in each habitat, attempting to spot a variety of local wildlife, seeing examples of active wildlife research efforts, and viewing the bald eagle nest through a spotting scope while discussing bald eagle life history and nesting biology. If wildlife is encountered, participants have the chance to use the spotting scope and capture photos while having unique access to the knowledge base of a Jekyll Island Conservation Staff member who is actively participating in a wide variety of research and conservation efforts on Jekyll Island. Before purchasing your tickets, please read through the Ranger Walks information here.
